Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of the third episode show why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to go next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
